I see we’re still doing just the copy/paste. And apparently, the paralysis has extended even to the head. Now it’s just the eyes that move. That might negatively impact the yarn crawl.
raven- dude get over it. alot of artist copy and paste cause it save them time and allows them to get more done. if you don’t like get stop reading it.
Hey Slicey, I think she has every right to critique a comic when its come to this point. Copy paste is okay for a couple panels in a row, but does look lazy and annoying when its for every panel in awkward positions.
I think the artist has a right to know how we feel so maybe they can improve.
The artwork is not usually the first thing I notice. I read because, well, I think the dialogues and themes are awesome thanks for sticking with KP, Gilly! I’m a fan of you both
slicey – it’s not about the cut/paste specifically. It’s about the fact that there is absolutely NO change. It’s like looking at a diorama with a voice over conversation. The art work is great. I love the art work, and I have enjoyed all the artists thus far. The part I notice is that for a supposedly animated conversation (and I have never yet met anyone who doesn’t get very animated when discussing a looked forward to vacation) the characters haven’t moved more than their eyes. I do understand that is faster and easier for the artist. I do, I’ve done artwork like this before and it was far easier. However, the comics I worked on also lost a lot of readers because of the static displays.
It helps when just emphasizing on the change of expressions, or someone freezing up in body language. But I agree with Raven, for a yarn crawl there should be arms up in the air, hands excitedly at the face. Etc etc.
I agree the copy and paste issues need to stop. Static images are fine for illustrating a story, but this is a -COMIC- as in, each panel should change, or there’s no point in having images. I’d rather read a transcript.
I think it is more that you don’t have to be rude in your critique, Raven. You could have said what you said in the second post and it would have been fine. But your “I see” and “Apparently” in the first post come off as arrogant and not helpful and, well, mean spirited.
I do agree though, cut and paste is fine for two panels or three, but in that fourth panel there should be more movement and excitement.
Works for me!

Wait for it… Legendary!

Kindness goes a long way.
Let’s try to be encouraging and keep this an enjoyable place to visit.
